2023
LÉA SERIER
Léa Serier has been the Analyst for the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples since October 2022. Her role is to ensure that the indigenous' women anf girls' human rights are respected in Quebec, and has two components.
On the one hand, the analyst's role is to work on the implementation of the UN Declaration in Canada and Quebec by participating in the creation and monitoring of a government action plan to meet the objectives of the Declaration by June 2023. This process includes consultations with women to validate the measures proposed by the government in the draft action plan and to identify gaps and additional measures if necessary. Once the action plan is validated, the analyst will follow up on its implementation.
