This second edition serves as a resource directory in family violence prevention and support for Quebec First Nations.
This guide includes a customizable section to add information about local resources available in your community. Our history, past and present

Preventing Spousal Homicide : Pamphlet for workers who work with First Nations and Inuit

Tool developed by the FNQLHSSC. This pamphlet was produced for workers who work with Aboriginal clienteles. It is an intervention tool that has been adapted from the tools contained in the guide Intervening with men to prevent spousal homicide.

First Nations in Quebec Teenage Violence Prevention Kit - Facilitator's Guide. Because I care for you...NO violence

Tool developed by the FNQLHSSC. The kit contains information and videos that can assist you in holding activities with your respective clienteles. We see the problem of violence in every society in the world, and the Aboriginal communities in Quebec are no exception. Violence is also a disturbing phenomenon that affects many young people. The evolution of this problem is cause for great concern and demands concrete prevention actions. This kit, developed to increase awareness of violence and to promote the adoption of positive attitudes and relationships among young people, is a step in this direction. This program is meant as a pedagogical resource which you can adapt for various uses, including support for violence prevention and awareness activities.

ANANGOSH: Legal Information Manual for Shelter Workers

Tool developed by the National Aboriginal Circle Against Family Violence (NACAFV). This manual is designed to help Indigenous women and service providers address key aspects of violence, as well as understand Indigenous women’s legal rights on matters related to leaving a violent relationship. It discusses legal tools for women’s safety, and provides information about relevant legal protections. The manual begins with an explanation of the rights-based framework to addressing violence against Indigenous women, and of the historical and social context that impacts Indigenous women in Canada.

Resources for Shelter Workers Providing Services to First Nations Women

Tool developed by the National Aboriginal Circle Against Family Violence (NACAFV). This document is intended for the use of shelter workers who provide services to First Nations women in Canada. The document details legal services, provincial/territorial government services, INAC regional branches, provincial/territorial Human Rights commissions, and general resources.

Origins of Lateral Violence in Aboriginal Communities

Tool developped by the Aboriginal Healing Foundation's latest publication—Origins of Lateral Violence in Aboriginal Communities: A preliminary study of student-to-student abuse in residential schools—is the first to look at peer abuse in the residential schools. The Decolonial Toolbox : an Educational Pathway

Tool developed as the result of a multi-year collaboration between Concordia University’s Office of Community Engagement, Mikana and the Montreal Indigenous Community NETWORK.
