2024

Founded in 1974, Quebec Native Women represents First Nations women in Quebec as well as Indigenous women in urban settings. Its mission is to support the efforts of Indigenous women to improve their living conditions through the promotion of non-violence, justice, equal rights and health, and to support women’s involvement in their communities.

The year 2024 will be a memorable one for all Indigenous women and girls in Quebec. They will gather together to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the founding of QNW. It’s in a context of unity, respect and mobilization that we’ll celebrate all the progress we’ve made. QNW is a leading reference on issues affecting Indigenous women in Quebec, and a vehicle for change. This event, like its slogan, focuses on the future.

Indigenous women hold immense potential, notably when it comes to contributing to the well-being and advancement of Nations and society in general. Their ongoing achievements reflect the diversity of their experiences and abilities. It’s vital that today’s young Indigenous girls have fulfilled role models to follow, so that the women they will be are able to take up the torch in their turn.

Let’s be actors of change for them!
